Game #2 Parkdale Hands Wise First Soccer Loss With 5-0 Victory
Panthers continue impressive home form as Pumas struggle oFensively in conference opener. RIVERDALE, Md. — Wise entered its first conference soccer match hoping to build on a season-opening shutout victory. Parkdale had other plans. The Panthers defeated the visiting Pumas, 5-0, on Thursday, handing Wise its first loss of the season and extending Parkdale's home winning streak to 12 matches dating to the previous season. The result left both teams with 1-1 records. For Wise, the defeat represented a sharp contrast to its opening performance against Bishop McNamara. After scoring twice and recording a shutout in its first match, the Pumas were unable to find the net against a Parkdale team that maintained its strong home-field form. The five-goal margin also presented Wise with an immediate challenge: regrouping defensively while finding ways to generate more consistent attacking opportunities. The Pumas were scheduled to return home to face DuVal, their first home appearance of the season.
