Flowers Pushes Unbeaten Wise to the Limit Before Falling, 6-0

Game #5 Flowers Pushes Unbeaten Wise to the Limit Before Falling, 6-0 Jaguars hold Pumas scoreless through three quarters before surrendering the game's only touchdown. UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Tuesday, September 29, 2026 — For three quarters Tuesday, Flowers accomplished something few opponents had managed against undefeated Wise: keeping the Pumas off the scoreboard. But Wise finally broke through in the fourth quarter, scoring the game's only six points to escape with a 6-0 victory in a tightly contested girls flag football matchup. Flowers entered the game searching for its first win, while Wise was seeking to preserve its perfect record. Despite the contrast in their records, the Jaguars kept the game scoreless through the first three quarters. Wise quarterback June Tabron completed six of 18 passes for 71 yards, while Brooklyn Epps caught two passes for 49 yards. Flowers' defense prevented those contributions from turning into points until the final period. The Pumas scored six points in the fourth quarter and held the Jaguars scoreless to secure the victory. Wise improved to 6-0, extending its shutout streak to four consecutive games. For Flowers, the defeat was disappointing, but the performance demonstrated that the Jaguars could compete defensively against an unbeaten opponent. After allowing 20 points to Eleanor Roosevelt in their previous outing, Flowers held Wise to its lowest scoring total of the season to that point. The Jaguars would next travel to Bowie on October 2, still searching for their first victory. DMV Gridiron Takeaway: Flowers delivered one of its strongest defensive performances of the season against Wise. Although the Jaguars could not score, holding an unbeaten opponent to six points provided a foundation to build upon.
