Game #4
Eleanor Roosevelt Holds Off Flowers, 20-13, in Girls Flag Football Contest
Jaguars produce their highest point total of the season but fall short in Greenbelt.
GREENBELT, Md. — Tuesday, September 22, 2026 — Flowers delivered its strongest offensive performance of the young girls flag football season Tuesday, but Eleanor Roosevelt held off the Jaguars, 20-13, in a nonconference matchup.
The Jaguars scored 13 points, more than they had produced in any of their previous three games, yet remained seven points short of their first victory.
For Flowers, the result offered evidence of offensive progress after a difficult opening stretch.
The Jaguars had scored just six combined points in losses to Parkdale, Westlake and Bladensburg.
Against Eleanor Roosevelt, Flowers more than doubled that total in a single contest.
But the Raiders generated 20 points of their own to secure the victory.
The seven-point margin also marked Flowers' closest game since its 6-0 season-opening loss to Parkdale.
Although the Jaguars were still searching for a win, their improved scoring output provided a positive development heading into the next stage of the schedule.
Flowers would next face undefeated Wise, a team that had established itself as one of the area's strongest defensive squads.
DMV Gridiron Takeaway: Flowers' 13-point performance against Eleanor Roosevelt was a meaningful step forward offensively. The challenge was translating that progress into a complete performance against a competitive opponent.
Final Score: Eleanor Roosevelt 20, Flowers 13
