Eagles deliver commanding defensive performance in home victory over Coolidge Colts.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Gonzaga Eagles continued their strong start to the 2026 football season with a decisive 33-0 victory over the Coolidge Colts, improving to 2-0 behind a dominant defensive performance.
After narrowly defeating Calvert Hall 22-21 in their season opener, the Eagles delivered a much different result in their second contest, shutting out Coolidge while producing 33 points offensively.
Gonzaga's defense established itself as a key factor in the victory, preventing the Colts from scoring throughout the matchup.
The shutout marked an important step forward for the Eagles as they continued building momentum through their early nonconference schedule.
Coolidge entered the matchup looking to establish itself among the District's stronger public school programs but struggled to generate points against Gonzaga.
The loss dropped the Colts to 1-1, while Gonzaga remained undefeated.
The Eagles will next face Eastern High School in another Washington, D.C., matchup.
DMV Gridiron Game Takeaway: Gonzaga's defense made an early statement with its first shutout of the season, complementing an offense that has scored 55 points through two games.
